Raven is a private company incorporated in Ontario, Canada. At Raven we are focused on the exploration and discovery of the next generation of economic uranium deposits for the benefit of all of our stakeholders. We work at exploration frontiers around the world that offer high discovery potential and explorability. We differentiate our company through our focus on leadership, our deep management and technical expertise, and research partnerships. We develop innovative uranium exploration technologies for early, cost-effective, discovery. At discovery we will seek a partner to take on the challenge of mine development, and will continue on with our goal of the next discovery. Our Management
Allan Ibbitson, CEO was the former founding President and CEO of U3O8 Corp., a TSX venture listed company in which he developed the initial infrastructure and personnel. Beginning in late 2005 Allan guided the growth of U3O8 Corp. and was responsible for the successful 2006 IPO which raised $30 million. Previous to his role at U3O8 Corp. Allan acted as Chief Financial Officer with a number of junior mining and oil/gas companies including Laramide Resources Ltd., Absolut Resources Corp., Alexandria Minerals Corporation, Sage Gold Inc. and Dover Petroleum Corp. He has over 25 years experience in the mining and finance sectors, including experience with brokerage based corporate finance and institutional sales, as well as management positions in mining contracting and finance. Allan studied economics and accounting at the University of Waterloo.
James Marlatt, President is an exploration geologist with over 30 years experience, and was Cameco’s project leader responsible for the discovery of the McArthur River uranium deposit. As an exploration manager for Cameco Corporation he explored for uranium deposits in the fertile Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan, developed Cameco’s Australian exploration operation, and built the company’s worldwide uranium exploration project portfolio as Cameco’s Director of Global Exploration. Jim also acted as a Director of Energy Resources of Australia, Unor Inc., Uravan Minerals and several of Cameco's subsidiaries. Jim has specialist knowledge in the exploration for uranium deposits, and extensive experience in developing applied industry-university collaborative research initiatives directed at increasing exploration success rates. Jim is a Professional Engineer holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Engineering, with a specialization in geophysics, from Queen’s University, an Executive MBA, and a PhD in Human & Organizational Systems.
Our Project Portfolio
At Raven we utilize an analytical approach to examine the geological indicators that define the permissive nature of high grade deposits in geological environments. We have distilled over 100 exploration project opportunities down to a globally distributed pool of 10 projects that warrant further assessment. We have direct experience in these jurisdictions. Our immediate goal will be to establish land positions and to begin to explore up to five of these projects at any one time, and to continue to assess the prospectivity of the remaining terrains through exploration science, and the determination of investment.
